ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE BYU CARSHARING COMMERCIAL
Frequently Asked Questions
1) What time will it be held?
We need Zombie Extras to come for two different time shifts:
10:30am-3:30pm
3:00pm-8:00pm.
Refer to the schedule and location page.
2) What if I have class/work during my time shift? Can I come late, or just
leave for an hour?
No.
We need all extras to be committed for the whole time shift. This is critical for the production, and particularly important because of the intensity of the make-up involved.
We cannot provide University Excused absences for anyone missing class.
3) Where will we be filming?
We will be filming in several locations throughout the day.
LOCATION A and BASE CAMP (where all sign-in and make-up will be done) will be at the BYU Y-Lot located on 800N and 200E. We will be filming at Base Camp for the earlier time shift. For the later time shift, we will have everyone go through Make-Up at Base Camp, and then drive to our filming LOCATION B on University Avenue and 500 S.
Refer to the schedule and location page.
4) Will I get paid?
No. Being a zombie extra is an unpaid, volunteer position. But don't worry. There will be free food.
5) Do I have to do my make-up myself?
No. We will have a team of professional make-up artists on set to ensure that you look your living dead best!
6) Do I have to bring my own costume?
YES. Come to set in your own zombie costume. PLEASE FOLLOW OUR COSTUME GUIDELINES page.
NO BLOOD/GORE WILL BE ALLOWED ON COSTUMES.
Additionally, the posted "Costume Guidelines" provide helpful hints for getting a "fresh out of the grave look," complete with tattering and staining guides.
Every costume and will have to be personally approved on set by administration, and those not compliant will be sent home.
7) How will I know what to do?
Prior to shooting, you will receive an email with a PDF that thoroughly details everything you need to know for the day. Included will be an approximate schedule, directions, and instructions.
8) Will there be food?
Throughout the day, we'll have water for everyone. At the end of your time shift, we'll feed you Pizza. Sweet.
9) Can my family/roommates/friends come?
ANYONE is welcome to join in the Zombie horde and join the Apocalypse!
However, everyone on set must be a part of the cast or crew. You CANNOT invite people just to come watch.
We will need the contact info and commitment of everyone participating before TUESDAY, JUNE 7th.
10) Do ages matter?
All ages are welcome! We'd love to diversify our largely college-aged crowd, so both younger and older are MORE than welcome.
Anyone under 18 needs to get a parental release signed BEFORE the day of shooting unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
11) What are we advertising?
This promo is an advertisement for the BYU CarSharing program, with Connect by Hertz. It's a program that enables students to be able to rent a car on campus. For more details on the program, go to: http://www.connectbyhertz.com/ or visit our Project Overview Page.
12) Will I get a copy of it when it's done?
We will send you a link to its site on YouTube and we'll post in here on our blog. You're welcome to share that link on facebook, or show it to any friends or family.
13) What does "New Spice" have to do with any of this?
This promo is the work of the HBLL Multimedia Production Unit, the same people
who created last year's HBLL "New Spice" phenomenon.
